Chicken & Chip Supper and Charity Auction – September 14th

Join Liz King and friends for an evening of fun and laughter in aid of our student athletes


CUWBC and CULRC  are delighted to announce a Supper & Charity auction event. Liz King (mother of Gemma and Catherine King) has organised a relaxed evening with good food, light entertainment and fun.  An evening where  alumni, Cambridge supporters and rowing fans alike can join in to support the team!

Where is it taking place

All Saints Hall in Lightwater, (Broadway Road, Lightwater, Surrey, GU18 5SJ)

The evening will run from 7.30-10.30pm

You will be entertained by local, amateur musical entertainment (possibly by some of the CUWBC and CULRC Squad). There will even be a close-up magician will also be providing entertainment at your table!

There will be a raffle held on the night with lots of exciting bits and pieces up to be won!

Purchase Tickets

Tickets cost £20 and are limited to 100 so contact Liz as soon as possible to reserve your place! The event is for over 18 year olds only.

Tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Once ticket sales have been exceeded, names will be placed on a waiting list in case any become available. Tickets must be paid for within two weeks of booking.

Charity Auction

The dinner and charity auction has been organised to raise money to support the student athletes. All monies raised will be put towards the purchase of  a new boat trailer for the club.  This essential piece of equipment will be put to good use as it transports rowing boats to the various races around the UK.

Auction Items

  • Two tickets (Wednesday – Friday) at Henley Royal Regatta Enclosure in 2020 (donated by Alumni)
  • The opportunity for 1-2 people to go out on the Cambridge University Rowing Club coaching launch.  Watch the student athletes training either in Ely or on the Tideway.   (donated by Clubs)
  • Size 4 Light Blue Hunter Wellington Boots bearing the CUWBC logo (donated by CUWBC)
  • Size 10 Light Blue Hunter Wellington Boots bearing the CULRC logo (donated by CULRC)
  • A Light Blue Rupert & Buckley hoodie (Size 8) embroidered with the CUWBC logo (donated by CUWBC)
  • A signed top by James Cracknell and the rest of this year’s winning Blue boat
  • A signed GB top by Cath Bishop (a former British rower. In partnership with Katherine Grainger she was World Champion in the Coxless pair in 2003, and in 2004 they won a silver medal at the Olympic Games) (donated by Cath Bishop)
  • A four ball voucher for Windlesham Golf Club (donated by Windlesham Golf Club)
  • A four ball voucher for Caversham Heath Golf Club (donated by Scott Patience of Caversham Golf Club)
  • Ceramic light up Christmas tree (donated by Ellie Armitage)
  • A Athens Olympics Baseball Cap from the Official team kit (donated by Cath Bishop)
