CUWBC Athlete becomes U23 World Champion

Imogen Grant (Trinity) a member of the 2017 and 2018 CUWBC winning Blue Boat has won GOLD representing Great Britain at the World U23 Championships in Poland.

Imogen, who learned to row with her College Boat Club (First and Third Trinity) and the CUWBC Development Squad was racing in the Lightweight Women’s Single Scull at the Championships. She won both her heat and her semi-final to put herself as one of the favourites in the final and with a classy performance, she won in a time of 7:29.

Speaking after the race, Imogen said:

“I knew I had a good shot at a medal because I won the heat and semi this week, but I also knew the conditions would be very different,”

“I tried to stick to my race plan and I did what I wanted to, so I’m really happy.”

Imogen was coached to the Championship Gold by former CUWBC Chief Coach, Rob Baker.
